Update on COVID-19 and our policies going into the show. On July 27th the CDC released new directives on how the US should be handling the spread of COVID and in particular the Delta Variant. The main key takeaway from the release from the CDC was this statement “To maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others, wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.” They also provided a map of the US to allow you to track where your area is in terms of Low to High risk [link: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view]. Maricopa county, which is where we run Saboten Con, is currently in High which means the recommendation is to have everyone wear a mask indoors. We will not update our final policy for masks until the Monday before the show to make sure we are following the latest information and provide one clear directive so there is no confusion. That being said, unless Arizona and Maricopa County move out of High we will most likely need to enforce a mask mandate to help keep everyone safe during our event. We know there are some of you that may choose to not attend if we have to institute the mandate and we will allow anyone who chooses to not attend for this reason to roll their purchase to our 2022 show.
