Saboten-Con is a three-day anime convention held in Arizona. In 2009, the event was held at the Hilton Phoenix East/Mesa on October 30 - November 1. This was Saboten-Con's second year as an event, and we were excited to present you brand new programming, awesome guests, and a fantastic experience!

2009's guests included:

Steve Blum, veteran voice actor best known as the voice of "Spike Spiegel" from Cowboy Bebop, "Guilmon" and dozens of other characters from 3 seasons of Digimon, "Zabuza" and “Orochimaru” from Naruto, "Roger Smith" from The Big O, “Kazuma” from S-cry-ed, and so many more!
Chuck Huber, voice actor known for such roles as Hiei in YuYu Hakusho, Shou Tucker in Fullmetal Alchemist, Hiro Nohara in Shin Chan, Reever Wenham in D.Gray-Man, and so many more!
Vic Mignogna, voice actor known for such roles as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, Tamaki Suou in Ouran High School Host Club, Fai in Tsubasa Chronicle, Ikkaku in Bleach, Yukito in Air, Takanaga in Wallflower, Dark in DN Angel, and so many more!
M. Alice LeGrow, writer and artist of Tokyopop's Bizenghast, and an award-winning cosplayer.
Yaya Han, costume designer and cosplay entertainer with over 9 years of experience and 100+ costumes under her belt.
Kitsune Robot, anime and video game cover band, performing fan favorites such as "Cruel Angel's Thesis", "Sorairo Days", and "Don't Say Lazy".
Toybox, three-piece rock band based in Tempe, Arizona, rocking original Japanese music, such as hits Kotae and One Day One Step.
Mara Aum, artist, inker, toner who has worked on many Tokypop titles such as Dark Moon Diaries, Adventures in Ai Land, and Silky Pink.
Armand Villavert, artist for Tokyopop's ZAPT! and currently Boom Comics's Muppet Robin Hood.
David Doub, writer for Dusk, a supernatural vampire drama/action/thriller graphic novel.
Jolene Houser, artist for Dusk.

Featured events included:

Masquerade - Show off your cosplay skills in the biggest event of the convention!
Maid Café - Cafe Moé hosts the Maid Café this year and promises an experience filled with food, fun, and moé!
Console Gaming - Come to enjoy some laid-back gaming or compete in one of our many tournaments!
J-Fashion Show - Love the fashion of Japan? Model your JFashion in this fashion show or just come to appreciate the style!
AMV Contest - Creators from all over the world compete in a contest to create music videos using footage from anime. Come see the amazing results of their hard work!
Cosplay Prom - Dress up and dance the night away at our prom! Come dressed in your best prom attire or cosplay as a character attending prom for a shot at Cosplay Prom King or Cosplay Prom Queen! Awards will be given for outstanding outfits.
Club Sabo - Anime conventions are for adults, too! If you're over 21, come relax after hours at Club Sabo. Enjoy dancing, drinks, and the company of fans your own age.
